This video delves into CZ's early polymer-framed pistols, the CZ100 and CZ101, developed in the 1990s. These pistols, offered in 9mm and .40 S&W, aimed to be inexpensive, simple personal defense firearms, a concept CZ termed 'volkspistole'. Despite a polymer frame and numerous polymer parts, the design featured a surprisingly complex striker mechanism. The trigger is a long-pull double-action, negating manual safeties but impacting precision. A DA/SA variant, the CZ110, also failed to gain traction. Commercially unsuccessful, production ceased in 2007 after about 35,000 units. CZ leveraged the lessons learned from these pistols in their later, more successful P10 series.
