This Old Gun: SOLA Super Submachine Gun
This "I Have This Old Gun" segment from American Rifleman Television explores the SOLA Super submachine gun. Developed in Luxembourg in 1953 after WWII, the SOLA Super was an attempt to establish an export economy through firearms production. It was largely a copy of the Belgian Vigneron SMG and, along with the SOLA Leger, represents the only firearms ever produced in the Grand Duchy. Though adopted by the Luxembourgeois military until the 1960s, it struggled to compete with surplus British Sten SMGs. The export venture saw limited success with some African nations.
