Glock Meets 1911: The Alchemy Arms Spectre
This video explores the Alchemy Arms Spectre, a unique hybrid pistol that attempted to merge the best features of the Glock and 1911 platforms. Launched around the year 2000, the Spectre featured a Glock slide and striker-fired system combined with a 1911-style frame, incorporating both grip and manual safeties. Despite its innovative concept and planned calibers (.45 ACP, 9x19mm, and .40 S&W), production was hampered by significant quality control and tolerancing issues. Magazine production delays and the cost of developing additional calibers ultimately led to the company's dissolution in 2006, with only an estimated 100-200 units ever produced.
