Mateba MTR-8
This video delves into the Mateba MTR-8, Emilio Ghisoni's pioneering revolver design that predates his more famous semi-automatic revolvers and the Chiappa Rhino. Originally crafted for competition shooting, the MTR-8 was produced in various calibers (.22LR, .32 S&W, .38 Special, .357 Magnum) and configurations, including carbine variants. Ghisoni's innovative design, which aligns recoil with the shooter's arm by dropping the cylinder and firing from the top chamber, results in a slim frame despite a large cylinder capacity (8 rounds for .38/.357, 12 for .32, 14 for .22). Unlike later Mateba models, the MTR series are traditional DA/SA revolvers. Approximately 500 units were manufactured.
