This video explores the P7M7, a rare and mythical variant of the Heckler & Koch P7 pistol, chambered in .45 ACP. Originally designed for West German police trials in 9mm, H&K USA pushed for a .45 ACP version. Technical challenges with the gas-delay system led to the use of a hydraulic buffer instead. Only six prototypes were produced in the mid-1980s, with the German branch of the company opposing serial production due to concerns about market demand and retooling costs. The presenter believes the showcased prototype, serial number 2, is the only one in the United States.
