Daily Defense 3-23: Shooting Drill #2 - Improving Grip Consistency
This video focuses on a live-fire shooting drill designed to improve pistol grip consistency. The drill involves picking up a firearm from a "tabled" position, acquiring the optimal firing grip, aiming, and firing a single round at an 8" target from 5 yards. The core of the exercise is using index marks on the hands, applied by a spotter, to assess the precision and consistency of the "gun mount" without looking. Success is defined by at least two index marks aligning on 8 out of 10 shots. The emphasis is on grip evaluation rather than speed or pure accuracy, encouraging a deliberate approach to ensure the correct grip is achieved repeatedly.
